Abstract
Antibiotic susceptibility of E. Coli isolated in 1971 was studied. In this study, we collected stool from acute and chronic diarrhea patients admitted Korea General Hospital in Seoul downtown, and susceptibility test of 102 E. Coli isolated from the stool to 11 antibiotics had been carried out.
The results summarized as follows.
1. The resistant rate of E. Coli to antibiotics is Oxytetracycline 20.6%, Tetracycline 15.7%, Streptomycin 11.8%, Chloramphenicol 9.8%, Moderate resistant rate Oxytetracycline 69.6%, Tetracycline 43.0%, Chloramphenico 43.1%, Kanamycin 34.3%, Gentamycin 35,3%, Ampicillin 30.4%.
Moderate Senssitive : Ampicillin 55.9%, kanamycin 50.0%, Neomycin 46.1%, Oxytetracycline 9.8%, Tetracycline 28.4%, Chloramphenicol 35.3%.
Sensitivie : Gentamycin 21.6%, Erythromycin 16.7%, Colistin 15.7%, Oxytetracycline 0.9%, Tetracycline 12.7%, Chloramphenicol 11.8%.
2. As showed above, sensitivity rate of E. Coli to broad spectrum antibiotics just as Chloramphenico, Tetracycline, Oxytetracycline is remarkably reduced and new antibiotics just as Ampicillin, Colistin, Kanamycin, Gentamycin shows relatively high sensitive rate.
3. Ampicillin and Gentamycin shows good susceptibility to most of Cram negative rods and E. Coli.
